Ready to Compete?
Competing at state is a big part of your state experience. There are so many to choose from but when you have chosen here are some tips so you can be top three at state.
Start Early
It’s never too early to start your competition, we all work at a different pace so starting early will give you the upper hand. Also if your competition is taking a test make sure you practice as those are usually timed.
Get real world experience
Most of us will be researching our competitions on the internet, but that can only take you so far. My tip is to go out and ask people who are experts, for example, last year I did a small business management team and I reached out to a coffee shop in my area to give us a tour. From that, I learned a lot about what it takes to run a small business.
Practice before hand
If your presenting a competition practice presenting in front of people so you feel comfortable talking in front of the judges. Being relaxed and confident will go a long way with the judges.
