My name is Brandon Connor, and I am the State President of Oklahoma Business Professionals of America.

BPA has provided so many wonderful opportunities for me, and I will always be grateful. When I was first elected as an Officer, I was terrified because it required a lot of public speaking, which put me out of my comfort zone. And if you had told me a year ago that I would be speaking in front of thousands of people, I would´ve laughed. But my advisors worked with me and taught me so many valuable lessons, and now I can do anything. I have gained so much knowledge while being a part of this organization, and BPA has given me a skillset that will not become irrelevant even after my term as an Officer is over.

Becoming a State Officer is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I can’t even explain how I felt when my name was called, and I was asked to go on stage. It was the most amazing feeling, and I felt like my entire life had led to that moment.

Yes, there are challenges to face while being an Officer, but no one ever said it would be easy,. These can be overcome by working cohesively with your advisor, and your fellow teammates.

Leadership Conferences are the best time of year. All of the planning that is put into it is amazing. The best part is staying up late rehearsing for the next day, it really makes you feel like an adult.

My State Officer Team quickly became my best friends, and I know that I can trust them. Working with them, makes me feel like we can conquer the world, and I know that together, we can.

My advisors are amazing. They´ve become my second parents, and I can talk to them about anything.

I love BPA because it’s not just an organization that sharpens your skills and makes you think outside the box. It is a family that cares about you.

My time as an Officer will be something that I will always cherish, because it has taught me so much, and it is constantly pushing me to become a better version of myself.

Brandon Connor

President
